EJECT(8) MachTen Programmer’s Manual EJECT(8)

NAME
eject - eject floppy disk

SYNOPSIS
eject [ 0 | 1 | -d <device> ]

DESCRIPTION
Eject ejects the specified floppy disk. The floppy may be
specified by drive number or by device name. If no drive
number or device name is given, eject defaults to
/dev/rfd1.

On a Macintosh with two floppy drives, drive number 0 is
typically the internal floppy drive and drive number 1 is
the external floppy drive.

Newer generation Macintosh have a hard disk and one inter-
nal floppy drive, in this case it is drive number 1.
(These guidelines are not concrete, floppy drive numbers
can change.)

-d option specifies the floppy by device name. Customar-
ily the floppies are named /dev/rfd0 and /dev/rfd1.
